Attention Parents - your child needs you!

Roster Guide for 13s and up

A VERY important part of your child's football team is parent participation.  Without parent help filling rostered roles, your child team will suffer.

All parents are requested to help out during the year with the amount of time required to help kept to a minimum with a fair share of rostered roles between all parents.  Most parents will only be required to do ONE rostered role ONCE per season if all parents participate.

It is not much to ask for parents to participate and help the club out to ensure your child has a great and positive season.

So grab your child's coach or team manager, get your name on the roster early and help your child's team out and pick the roles you feel are better suited to you - but remember we need all roles filled each week (depending on if we are a home or away game).

Roster Jobs for 13's and up

Goal Umpiring: One of the easiest jobs on the roster. Flags are provided and you get the best view of the game at the ground.  You must be prepared to watch the match and the ball very closely. Wave one flag for a point, both flags for a goal. Waterproof poncho/ raincoat provided.  Free warming coffee courtesy of the canteen at the end of a home game.

Timekeeping: Ever wanted to blow the siren and be in control of the game? Then if you can press a button and read, this rostered job is for you. The electronic timer is provided as well as the running time for each quarter and the all important button for the siren is located right outside the canteen. Good place to be on a cold and wet day.

Match Report: Great job and good fun writing a few things about your kid's team's football match. The good, the bad and the ugly kicks, marks, goals, smothers, chasers runs down the wing, legal bumps, horrible rain or fantastic sunshine. Let the clich's fill the page. A report file is provided, write as the match progresses and hand it in to your Team Manager at the end of the game.  For Match report examples check-out our website.

Canteen: One of the most important jobs on the roster and one of the most fun. Our canteen is an integral fundraiser for the club. The money it makes keeps other fundraising activities to a minimum.  Usually only one maybe two shifts throughout the fixtured year is all you need to do. Our Lovely Canteen Manager, Jodi will be there to help, but usually our helpers serve or if they are really clever, sometimes cook.  On a cold, wet day it's the best place to be.
And for that parent's footy kid, there's a free bucket of chips at the end of a home game.

Jumper Washing: A very important job and dead easy, even the dads can do it. All you need is a Washing Machine and a dry place to hang the jumpers and the job is done. Folding is optional.  Just remember to bring them with you to the next game!!

Scoring: It's easy, exciting and the use of a calculator is optional.  If you want to be everybody's best friend for a match, put your hand up. For home games a scoring sheet is provided, which is handed to the umpires at the end of the game. Concentration is a must - you don't want to miss any points. Watching the white flags and waiting for the umpires' signals is an easy way to score and always be right.

Boundary Umpire: If you feel like a good  run or jog, then this job is for you.  A level of skill, throwing a ball over your head and fitness is required keeping up with the play and the ball around the boundary.  Water is provided and lots of encouragement, to keep on running. A very fulfilling job. Most people take on this role for the season, so a high level of commitment is required.

Water Carrier: If you want to be an integral part of your childs team, then grab the water bottles and run. A team can't play without water and this position is crucial to keep the kids hydrated. A level of fitness is required, you need to get the water on and off the field quickly, and  its your job to keep the bottles filled, but its fun and you get to watch the match from the dugout. Most people take on this role for the season, so a high level of commitment is required.

Interchange Bench: This is a very important job and you're part of the official coaching team. Your role is to record the number and name of the players coming on and off the field and the amount of time they have played in each quarter.  Easy.. but vital for the coach to know exactly who is playing and how long each person has had on the ball. Most people take on this role for the season, it can be shared by two, but a high level of commitment is required.

We look forward to seeing you....
